BRD’s current product portfolio focuses on bioremediation solutions designed to enhance natural degradation processes, reduce contaminant persistence, and support regulatory-compliant remediation outcomes across a range of industrial and infrastructure environments. Our work integrates scientific understanding of hydrocarbon behaviour, bioavailability, and microbial activity with real-world operational constraints. In addition to our active bioremediation offerings, BRD brings deep formulation and applied chemistry experience developed through past, client-commissioned R&D programs. This includes upstream environmental risk-reduction technologies where prevention, reduced hydrocarbon loading, and improved environmental compatibility were key design drivers. Together, this capability underpins BRD’s holistic approach to contamination management — from prevention and risk reduction through to active remediation and site recovery.
Bioremediation Products
BRD’s bioremediation products are formulated using proprietary blends of nutrients, selected microbial consortia, and naturally derived compounds. These solutions accelerate the biological breakdown of hydrocarbons in soil and water, often enabling sites to meet regulatory requirements without excavation or off-site treatment.

BiiRAPID HS - Soil Solution
BiiRAPID HS is designed for the treatment of hydrocarbon-contaminated soils resulting from spills of petroleum-based fuels, oils, lubricants, and greases. The product rapidly reduces TPH concentrations, including in heavily contaminated soils, to levels compliant with environmental regulatory standards.
BiiRAPID HW – Water Solution
BiiRAPID HW targets difficult-to-bioremediate hydrocarbon contaminants in water, including compounds such as phenols commonly found in industrial wastewater streams. The formulation has proven effective in heavily contaminated water systems, enabling accelerated remediation to regulatory standards.
Bio Refinery Developments R&D Capability
In response to a client requirement to reduce hydrocarbon persistence and environmental impact at the point of use, BRD previously undertook commissioned R&D to develop a suite of biodegradable lubricant formulations, including hydraulic oils, rock drill oils, chainsaw lubricants, and concrete mould release agents. These formulations were designed to minimise long-term soil and water contamination risks and were successfully field-trialled under Australian operating conditions.
While these products are not currently manufactured or supplied by BRD, the work demonstrates the company’s applied expertise in environmentally responsible chemistry, contaminant-aware formulation design, and the development of technologies that complement downstream soil and water bioremediation outcomes.
Bio Hydraulic Oils
BRD previously undertook client-commissioned R&D focused on the formulation of biodegradable hydraulic oils suitable for Australian operating environments. This work addressed the competing demands of hydraulic efficiency, component protection, and environmental performance, with particular attention to oxidation stability, corrosion control, wear protection, and low-temperature flow behaviour. The resulting formulations demonstrated reliable start-up protection and stable long-term performance, illustrating BRD’s capability to engineer environmentally responsible hydraulic fluids without compromising system reliability or service life.
Bio Rock Drill Oils
As part of a separate customer-led R&D engagement, BRD developed biodegradable rock drill oil formulations intended for use in high-stress pneumatic and hydraulic drilling equipment, including jack hammers and pavement breakers. The work focused on maintaining effective lubrication and wear protection under severe operating conditions, wide temperature variation, and continuous mechanical loading. Field validation confirmed that the formulations could withstand demanding duty cycles while supporting biodegradability and sustainability objectives, demonstrating BRD’s experience in formulating lubricants for harsh, contamination-prone environments.
Bio Concrete Mould Release
BRD has previously conducted client-commissioned formulation work on biodegradable concrete mould release agents for pre-cast and in-situ concrete construction applications. This R&D emphasised controlled release behaviour and surface finish quality, with formulations designed to minimise surface defects such as staining, porosity, blistering, and concrete break-out. Field testing demonstrated consistent formwork release without residue or build-up, highlighting BRD’s ability to apply environmentally responsible chemistry to construction processes where surface integrity and clean separation are critical.
Bio Chainsaw Lubricants
In response to a customer requirement for environmentally improved forestry lubricants, BRD previously formulated biodegradable chainsaw lubricants designed to support reliable lubrication of the chain, bar, and sprocket system. The formulation work focused on friction and wear reduction, control of pitch build-up, and limiting lubricant throw-off while maintaining suitable flow characteristics for pump-fed lubrication systems. This program demonstrated BRD’s capability to balance precision lubrication performance with biodegradability in applications where lubricant loss to the environment is inherent to operation.
